How big is this green fashion trend? Well this past January, New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study held an "Eco-Fashion Week". The week included events such as, “Eco Chic: Art Representation & Green Living,” a panel discussion; “Working with Sustainable Materials,” a fashion workshop; and “Haute Eco-uture” a fashion show featuring designs by Gallatin students and alumni.

I love this new, green fashion trend! i think its great that designers are becoming more environmentally sound. "Going green" has really spread throughout the media over the past few years. Advertisers have done a great job with making "going green" fashionable. It shows that people ae starting to make a conscious effort to create a better living environment for our generation and generations to follow. By doing this, we are showing God and his environment the rrespect that they deserve.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally supportive of this new fashion trend. Although I've yet to recycle my old clothes into something new (I definitely will though!) I must admit that I'm more inclined to buy a shirt knowing it's made from organic cotton, or even recycled from something else. I hope all major fashion industries eventually go green! Hopefully old shirts and such will be able to be recycled into something totally brand new!
ReplyDeleteI love the fashion that's all about going green. Another new big trend in fashion is candy wrapper bracelets. They're really cute bracelets made all out of candy wrappers, such as starburst. A local stand in the mall opened up that sells all candy wrappers merchandise and they even show you how to make your own at home. They do not just sell bracelets; they sell purses, headbands, necklaces, and cell phone cases made out of candy wrappers. I think that if you can recycle material and make it into something fashionable, it's great for you and the planet.
